DANIEL SCHWEIGER
Starting out as a genre journalist for such magazines as Fangoria, Cinenefantastique and Horror Fan, Daniel Schweiger began writing soundtrack reviews for The New York Review of Records. Moving to Los Angeles, he worked at Full Moon Entertainment in promotions while overseeing the release version of Arcade and The Lurking Fear. It was on Stuart Gordon’s The Pit and the Pendulum where he began temp tracking film soundtracks, a vocation he continues today at Formosa Music Group on such films as The Whale, The Haunted Mansion and the series Julia and National Treasure.

As a soundtrack journalist and editor, Daniel has written for Venice Magazine, Film Score Monthly, Assignment X and online at Filmmusicmag, where he began the podcast On the Score, which has now turned into the videocast Film Music Live. He has written over 100 CD liner notes, including Basic Instinct, The Running Man, 9 to 5, Fright Night and the IFMCA-winning Obsession. His video discussions of scores can be seen on blu rays for Black Sunday, Audrey Rose, The Straight Story and Legend. As an actor, Daniel can be seen in Bubba Ho-Tep, Phantasm Ravager, Happy Horror Days, Bloody Bloody Bible Camp and the upcoming Pacific Breeze and He’s for the Streets.

Daniel is married to composer Penka Kouneva (Dragon Age: Absolution and the Grammy-winning Women Warriors: The Voices of Change) and resides in the wilds of Tujunga, California where he can be found hiking, playing pinball and voraciously checking out exotic restaurants.
