Returning to scene of the liner note crime with a wonderfully bigger dastardly scene for CHARLES FOX’s FOUL PLAY!

It’s been a year of getting to cover absolute grails thanks to Intrada Records, first liner noting the full expanse of Danny Elfman’s Nightbreed, and now being able to take a second shot at revisiting the liner note scene of the crime with FOUL PLAY. Long one of the my favorite suspense comedies and scores, I’ve kept the 2009 interview I did with Chevy Chase (because he’s Chevy Chase and I’m not) and completely rewrote the booklet with a new talk with composer Charles Fox (whose 9 to 5 I worked out for Intrada a while ago). It’s truly a dream to have just about two and a half hours of score and songs (with multiple variations of the Oscar-nominated Ready to Take a Chance Again), along with the ingeniously sequeing end chase between Fox and Gilbert and Sullivan, as heard here in its entire San Francisco downhill run and as separate entities. If you’re as much of a fan of Foul Play as I am while Bewaring the Dwarf, this is a must-have joy of a release HERE!
